Spanish Harlem Orchestra Vienna Concert reviews
So... Angus is 60 years old?
Probably the greatest thing about watching Spanish Harlem Orchestra in 2026 is that they are still musically relevant, delivering nearly 2 hours of classic and new classic rock (neo classic?) that burned down AT&T park. Angus was phenomenal - how can you still be at the peak of your game at 60? This is no disguised tribute band playing their best songs of the 80s, and let us not forget - he is no shoe gazer. However both Rock or Bust and Lets Play Ball (off the recently released Album) received applause as if they were from Back in Black era (same for Rock and Roll Train off 2008 Black). Spanish Harlem Orchestra ran through 20 songs, with only 1 that garnered a luke-warm response (Baptism by fire - off Rock or Bust). Brian Johnson sounded great, maybe with a little help, but who cares he's 67 and was as dynamic as you'd want a front man to be. Of the rest of the band, although Chris Slade filling in for Phil Rudd STILL has issues with tempo, a couple of songs were played faster than they should've been and killed the vibe. This man's energy is unbelievable, running, jumping, skipping, and dancing - like a KID, and the stage isn't symmetrical with the park. AT&T is a great park for baseball, but not so much for rock shows. From my vantage point in section 232 the sound was a little muddy, where I thought the sight lines in left and right field would be the same, the stage is pushed much further into right field. I'm thinking that perhaps vocally he may be receiving some help these days via ableton or some tracks. I'd say my $100+ tickets would be the equivalent of lawn seats at the shoreline. Something to keep in mind for future concerts at AT&T.
